We welcome you to the web site of West Suburban Access News Association, also known as WSANA, www.wsana.org. This website as of August 30, 2008 has been visited by over 113,500 persons.  

 The mission of WSANA is to provide information that will allow individuals with disabilities to live independently in and contribute to the community in which they live.

 WSANA is a not-for-profit corporation which maintains this web site thus it relies on donations to sustain its programs , it provides information for persons with disabilities, and other interested persons.  legal rights of individuals with disabilities WSANA helps to try to make sure that persons with disabiities have access to the same programs and services as those without  disabilities.

 WSANA Also helps persons with disabilities to become aware of special services which assists  individuals with disabilities, across America.

In addition WSANA has recently scheduled several staff workshops to help not only persons with disabilities, but also those who serve them become aware of various laws, statues, programs and services which exist for the benefit of persons with disabilities. 

WSANA also meets with elected and appointed officials to work on programs and services which will assist persons with disabilities.

Make Sure the Language You Use Is Respectful

WSANA asks everyone to be sure that the language you use when describing a person with disabilities has respect and is the same way you would like to be described if the roles were reversed. Be sure you use people or individual with________ in your description.

WSANA begins meetings at Independent Living Facilities.                                                                                                          

WSANA has begun comming out to independent living facilities and holding meetings, during these meetings we try to let the residents know about services and programs available to them. If you are a manager of a independent living facility and would like us to come to your building please call us.

WSANA To Participate In Jewel's Shop & Share Event in September.

WSANA will participate in Jewel's Shop & Share event on September 15-17. Each slip turned in while you shop will give WSANA 5% of your purchase at any Jewel/Osco store.  to have a slip be  e-mailed to you  please e-mail us at    :info@wsana.org include your e-mail address and we will send you a slip. We appreciate your help. 

WSANA to Participate in Carson's Communty Day's

WSANA will participate in Carson's Comunity Day on November 15th. The Books are just $5.00 and we get to keep all money collected, The books contain a $10.00 coupon and 8-20% off coupons. The books are good at any Carson Store. WSANA would appreciate any help you can give us.
